V0.4.2

People have still been having problems with the controls.  I can't reproduce these problems, so it's impossible for me to correct these problems without just releasing an update with some changes and hope that it works.

This version also has fixed the missing surface error a few people have had, and the handful of graphical hiccups GMStudio caused.

I hope that helps the controls for people, because otherwise I've got about no clue what to do.  I've searched high and low via google for other people having this problem, but to no avail.

  1. Ok, posted earlier in the previous post and you said that it should be just jumping and rolling. Well, I thought so too, but it requires me to hold away from the wall and then jump. Timing it wrongly by a second just makes me fall. I got a G510 logitech and simply hitting jump while wall sliding simply makes the main character drop. Trying to roll then jump does the same thing. Note, this is for the previous version. I am going to try this one and see how it ends up.

    1. Yeah that's definitely not how it should be working. Have you tried the latest version yet? How's that working for you?

  2. Just tried the newest version, and it is still the same. If I am wall sliding and hit the jump button, I immediately fall. If I have my back to the wall and jump and then jump again, I can wall bounce. No idea why it is this way. Blame game maker I guess. I've beaten the demo before on a previous version and I enjoyed what I played. I can't wait for future versions.

    1. Yeah that's the only thing I can think of, really, is that GMStudio is what's causing the problem... I'm still trying to find a solution that'll work for people though!

  3. Is there a possibility that you increase the options for brightness even more?
I didn't have the chance to change it on my screen itself, but would really test this game to the fullest.

    1. I'll see if I can reasonably make it so you can make it brighter, but honestly I think you can make it pretty bright to begin with. It's probably for the best if you play in a dimly lit room or have your screen's brightness up.

  4. Sorry, but this is unplayable for me. I can hardly get past the first screen because the first jump, which has to be a super-jump, just doesn't work. The controls are some of the worst I've experienced in game, ever.

The character doesn't move left or right when I press the arrow keys--I have to hold it for about half a second to get any movement. Jumping just makes the character cling to the wall and the character simply doesn't respond when using left/right while jumping, perhaps because of the same lag from moving. One time, I managed to get over the ledge somehow, but then the next jump, the one where you apparently have to jump up while punching to break a wall and get onto a platform, was absolutely impossible and I died.

I wish that the tutorials would reliably show up. I had one show up briefly, then when I restarted the game, it didn't show up again, though I didn't get to read it the first time because I accidentally skipped it. All around, I really wanna try this game, but these control issues baffle me. I'm using Windows 7, 64-bit edition, if that matters, and I'm using the latest, stand-alone version of the game.

    1. Yeah I'm having a lot of problems with some people not having their controls work. As far as I can tell it's a bug with Gamemaker. I've been trying to find a solution, but so far to no avail.

  5. Ok, managed to get it to work by re-binding all keys. Thankfully!

As for the game itself, I'm a bit puzzled by why it's an H-game. The game is fiendishly difficult, often due to very sadistic level design. Enemies that actually have sex scenes are few and far between. It seems like the "core" of the game is me dying on wall-tentacles and shooting wall eyes a lot. Why is it an H-game when it seems to be more about shooting and platforming than sex?

    1. The game is supposed to be difficult; I'd recommend playing on Easy at first. Every enemy has a sex animation (or they should, if they don't that's a bug so please fill me in).

Just because it's an H-game that doesn't mean it can be bereft of all challenge, nor does it mean it has to focus heavily on the H-content.

    2. Ok, no offense meant--I was just asking. I felt like I'd been playing for a while but had only noticed four sex-animation'd enemies (wolves, zombies, and the green blobs, small and large), but maybe the mages have one as well? Are there more kinds of enemies later as well?

    3. None taken, just wanting to explain my vision for the game :)

Yes the mages do have a sex animation, and there are more enemies later on. In total there are about 20 (I think 19 exactly) that have H-animations.
