Save Editing Tutorial

So here's a quick little tutorial on how to edit your save file!  Note that obviously you can't load content that's past the demo levels if you haven't bought the game, so you can't get spells past the second, or load past the 6th save shrine.

In the AppData folder for the game (C:\Users\*name*\AppData\Local\Nagai_Yamiji\ the same place you put the license) is the file "NYsave.txt" which is the save file for the game.  You should also notice NYcg and NYconfig, but don't worry about those, there's nothing in NYconfig that you can't change on the Options menu, and NYcg can only be edited if you know the passcodes you need (so just unlock the CGs yourself :P).

Anyway, when you open up the NYsave, you'll be treated to something like this:
10 10 10 10 -These numbers are you stats (INT, DEX, CON, LUK)
1 0 -Your current level and exp
10 0 -Exp needed for next level, and number of stat points not allocated
100 0 0 0 0 0 -First number is hp, next five are your mps
0 0 0 -Change these to "1" to activate Sprint, Roll, or Walljump
0 -What spell you have equipped
0 -What spell you have unlocked (Between 0 and 5)

0 -All these numbers are for the hidden stat bonus runes
0 -There's no real reason to want to change these

-Change these to "1" to give yourself the wyrmstones and rifttotems
0 Top wyrmstone 0 Bottom wyrmstone 0 Left rifttotem 0 Right rifttotem 0 -Whether you beat the Wyrm boss 0 -Whether you're carrying Jimmy the Skeleton 0 -Whether you beat the King Spider boss 1 -Current save shrine

Here are a few useful save shrine numbers:
6 - Shrine right before the Wyrm boss
11 - Shrine right before the King Spider boss
17 - Last shrine, right before the Rift boss

The shrine numbers are just sequential, nothing complicated. So if you are ever like "fuck this" you can increase that number by 1 to get to the next shrine. Notice, however, that might move you past a spell rune that you need.

You ought to make a back up of your save (if you're attached to it at all) so if you bugger something up you can restore it. If you mess something up and the game starts freaking out, simply delete the save and the game will make a clean one (resetting your progress, obviously).

Hope this little guide helps out! Have fun!

    1. Glad you enjoy the game :) If you're talking about PayPal not taking credit cards, it would appear that problem is fixed. Hope you can purchase a copy soon! :D

    5. Haha well I'm glad you're still wanting to purchase :)

I'm not working on it right away, I'm kinda taking a short vacation to catch up on all these Steam games that I've racked up XD

  2. Would love to buy the game, but the thing is... it crashes on my peronal PC! I tried it for a milisecond to see if it works on the Internet Cafe (with Windows 7) but then after bringing it home( by USB) it started to crash! My OS is Windows XP SP3. It doesen't happen with Kurovadis, nor Eroico!
P.S. I must admit, Kurovadis was a masterpiece but it would be cool if developers would be working on 2d versions of "Dark Soul"s or "Silent Hill 2"s!

    1. Hmm, very strange... So when you try running it what happens exactly? Does it toss an error message? Can you get to the start screen or anything?

    2. No start screen, I try to launch, a few seconds pass and then comes an error message. Should I send you something, like an error report or a screenshot?

    3. Yeah copy/paste what the error message is saying or a screenshot would work.

    4. Just sent it to support@whitewashinteractive.tk. That's the one I shold have sent it, right? The E-mail subject is called- Jutiko Sagara- so it would be clear it's me.

  3. Good to hear you made a shrine skip and stuff. The platforming is on a whole norther level compared to the enemies. The shaft was bad enough; then you had me get shot at and tentacles all over the shaft and even one where if you mess up you have to go the long way to try again. D:
I was surprised how easy the 1st boss was when I fought it, compared to the platforming. Too bad there arn't any H-scenes for them. Also surprised the tentacle walls and floor don't have an h-scene ether.
Goin' to buy it soon. :3

    1. Glad you're considering a purchase :D

I've said before that the game is definitely platforming heavy, and not very combat focused. My plan for my next game is to have a lot more combat mechanics

  4. Not quite sure how it's happened, but my game folder apparently doesn't have a NYsave.txt file, or any file named NYsave.

    1. Are you looking in the AppData folder? It's the same place that the license should go. If you can load games then there's a save file somewhere :P

    2. That's the weird part, yeah, I can load my game fine when I'm playing as well as have the license in the right place, but no NYsave.txt, I even did a full comp search and there's no file.

    3. That is certainly strange... don't really know what to tell you, sorry!

    4. I've encountered this as well, and I've bought the game and can't find it anywhere

  5. It is strange. I bought the game today and continued where I left off from the stand alone demo. Could we gather a safe file after starting a new game? After playing up to the 2nd boss.. I shouldn't be afraid of spiders anymore lol. Good game

  6. Hi!
I'm in the same case as SuperNerd000 and I can't find the NYsave. I have just data.txt where I suppose there are the save files but it's too hard to change the file.
Anyone who finished the game can share a data.txt file?

  7. Looking back even further, the game continued off from where I played the stand alone demo. If we can find out where the files are stored for that, we can locate our nyconfig and what not.
